Case Study


Quiznos approached NovaDine in early 2007 with an opportunity and a challenge:  Simultaneously launch online ordering and a new delivery service within 45 days.  Each was a major departure for Quiznos; together they were a formidable challenge.  For NovaDine, it was an opportunity to demonstrate our value and technology.

 

Before approaching NovaDine, Quiznos had investigated the online ordering providers on the market and chosen the best four companies to test.   All four competitors were asked to be production ready within 45 days. 

 

The NovaDine site was ready a full two weeks early.  NovaDine representatives traveled to Denver Colorado to oversee the launch of the pilot store, and on the 1st day, the system was successfully accepting orders.

 

None of the competitors was able to meet the 45 day launch date except NovaDine.  While NovaDine delivered 2 weeks early, the competitors were 30 - 60 days late.   Regardless, Quiznos allowed the competitors to play.  One competitor was out in 30 days the three remaining including NovaDine were compared and rigorously tested for another month.

 

At the end of the testing period, Quiznos Chief Information Officer announced their choice:

"The NovaDine software provided the greatest array of features, performance, amd service among the three finalists. The NovaDine system was accepting orders within days and the development team was able to add Quiznos specific improvements in a very timely manner."

Upon being selected by Quiznos as their online solution provider, Quiznos planned an accelerated roll out of 200+ stores per month.   NovaDine staff trained Quiznos Corporate personnel on the product and rollout procedures in one day.  One day of training was more than enough to allow Quiznos personnel to roll out locations without further assistance from NovaDine. 


The Quiznos store managers had to also start delivery service with the new web service.  NovaDine’s rich feature set was a great asset for the managers as they learned how to set up and manage delivery areas online.

 

Quiznos then issued another challenge to NovaDine:  Design the best online store locator for it's new delivery service.  How well did NovaDine do in meeting the Quiznos challenge?   Here is a quote from the Quiznos SVP of Delivery and Catering to the NovaDine CTO:

Soon after implementing the NovaDine system, Quiznos started reaping the benefits:  Online orders through http://deliverybyquiznos.com/ that are a full 250% higher than in-store orders, and increased customer satisfaction. 

 

Bottom line: Quiznos challenged, NovaDine delivered.
